ORAL HISTORY SUMMER SCHOOL
Oral History Summer School was established in Hudson, New York in 2012 to train an international group of writers, social workers, radio producers, artists, teachers, human rights workers, and others to make use of Oral History in their lives and work.
GROUNDSWELL: ORAL HISTORY FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Groundswell: Oral History for Social Change, is an emerging and dynamic network of oral historians, activists, cultural workers, community organizers, and documentary artists. They use oral history and narrative in creative, effective and ethical ways to support movement building and transformative social change.
Groundswell’s mission is to build the creativity and power of social justice movements by providing mutual support, training, and resources in the practice of grassroots oral history.
HEARING HER: NEW FEMINIST ORAL HISTORIES
11 April 2013, Sussex
This symposium will explore why and how oral history has been privileged as a methodology for capturing women activists’ experience in very different countries and contexts. We will compare interviewing, archiving, interpretation and publicising methods and identify good practice that we can share. We will also identify strategies for future oral-historical research on transnational and cross-cultural feminism.
V ENCUENTRO LATINOAMERICANO DE HISTORIA ORAL
El lunes 11 fue inaugurado el V Encuentro Latinoamericano de Historia Oral en El Salvador que congregó a historiadores orales de todo el continente. El encuentro que llevaba por lema "Voces e imágenes de la historia reciente de América Latina" fue coorganizado por la Red Latinoamericana de Historia Oral, la cual fue presentada en el acto inaugural por la historiadora Marcela Camargo. El encuentro que se desarrolló hasta el viernes 15, contó con la presencia de destacados historiadores latinoamericanos que se reunieron en torno a mesas de trabajo, mesas redondas y talleres, dando cuenta de los últimos avances en las investigaciones en el campo en nuestro continente.

The force of democracy as well as the resistance it has met have prompted oral history projects around the world. Interviews with advocates of change have supplemented and supplanted archives of discredited regimes. Oral histories have documented social and political upheavals, reform movements and reactions. Oral history have revealed the effects of power relationships that exist between citizens and their governments, workers and employers, students and teachers, and the layers within institutions, communities and families.
